This is a live re-enactment of the story behind the Cherokee "Trail of Tears." There are festivals throughout the year for those who enjoy music, crafts, and food.

If you want a romantic evening together, try dining with the fine folks at the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. They offer gourmet dinners on Saturday nights and Mystery Theater dinners on select Friday nights. Either way, you'll enjoy riding the train and taking in the views of the Smoky Mountains.

If you are adventurous you must go rafting down the Nantahala River. Its one of the finest whitewater rafting rivers in the country. The Tsali Recreation Area near Fontana Lake is becoming a "Mecca" for those who like mountain biking.
